Dr Yong graduated from the Christian Medical College Vellore, India in 2001. He is trained in internal medicine and was conferred the membership for the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom.
He has a wide breadth of clinical experience in medical, surgical, women, and child health whilst working in public and private hospitals both in Malaysia and Singapore. He was a panel physician for the Australian and Canadian visa application process and was a faculty member of a basic life support training centre in Malaysia.
Dr Yong has also worked in specialist units covering general medicine and oncology where he was involved in clinical care as well as clinical research and his work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals.
Dr Yong enjoys a good working relationship with his colleagues. He received a number of service excellence and service champion awards while serving in public hospitals both in Malaysia and Singapore.
He is passionate about holistic care for his patients and promoting healthy living to prevent and control chronic illnesses. He strives to promote better patient-doctor communication and relationship. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family in outdoor activities such as swimming, hiking, and playing musical instruments.
Dr Yong is fluent in English, Mandarin, Hakka, Cantonese, and Malay.
